The ROC Marine Corps were formed from the former Navy Sentry Corps in December 1914. The ROCMC is the amphibious branch of the ROC Navy. Their duties are amphibious combat and reinforcement of main island of Taiwan. They are also charged with the defense of the ROC Navy facilities and are a rapid response force. The ROCMC used to be made up of the 66th and 99th Divisions but have since been downsized with the ROC switching to a defensive posture.
