Boeing 737-800 Diecast Model
Boeing, 2004 Livery

1:400 Scale   Length   Width
Boeing 737-800   4"   3.5"

The Boeing 737 is the world's most popular medium range - narrow body commercial passenger jet aircraft. With 5,851 ordered and 4,867 delivered, it is the most ordered and produced commercial passenger jet aircraft of all time. It has been continuously manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes since 1967. By the 1990s, the 737 had lost ground technologically to the newer Airbus A320. In 1993, Boeing initiated the 737-X or Next Generation (NG) program. The Next-Generation 737 encompasses the -600, -700, -800 and -900, and amounted to what was a complete redesign of the 30-year old airliner.

Developed for the company's all-new 7E7 Dreamliner passenger airplane, the colors and design are being extended to Boeing's current passenger airplanes and collateral items including models, brochures, World Wide Web sites and apparel. On an airplane's exterior, four shades of blue and two shades of white combine throughout the plane's length as a visual depiction of the horizon and sky. These colors replace the design introduced in 1981. The new colors are the fifth standard commercial airplanes color set in the company's history.

Boeing 737-800

Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds.
