This truck is finished in a winter camouflage scheme of white swirled over the panzer gray basecoat. It isn't known what unit the truck originally stemmed from, but it did serve on the Eastern Front in 1943. The wheels and independent coil spring suspension are masterfully represented, as is the raking hood. To add to the item's appeal and value, the truck is towing a gray-colored 3.7cm PaK 35/36 anti-tank cannon as well. This 6x4 truck was a workhorse of the German military during WWII, and here Dragon Armor has put it to good use towing a common early-war anti-tank cannon.

Krupp Kfz.70 Protze Truck

Designed primarily as an artillery tractor, the 6x4 Krupp Protze was a workhorse of the Wehrmacht. It eventually saw use in a variety of roles, including that of mobile anti-aircraft artillery platform and more commonly, as an infantry carrier. An air-cooled 3.3L flat-four cylinder engine configuration gave the vehicle's nose its distinctive low, flat shape and provided the driver with superb forward visibility. Four-wheel drive coupled with independent six-wheel suspension made the vehicle ideally suited for light cross-country duties. Almost 7000 units were produced between 1933 and 1941.

Dragon's 1:72 scale Krupp Portze truck is constructed entirely of plastic to allow for maximum scale detail. The open-top cab is framed with a delicate transparent windshield and side mirrors and provides a clear view of driver's controls and instrument panel. The cargo bed is wonderfully detailed with simulated wood-grained sides and bolt-head construction details visible upon close inspection in addition to separately applied, hand-painted equipment. The hidden beauty of this model though, is found on the underside with accurately reconstructed details of the coil spring suspension on the rear wheels and leaf-spring suspension on the front wheels.

Dragon Models 1:72 Armor Collector Series

The Dragon Models "1:72 Dragon Armor Collector Series" range presents highly-detailed, ready-made plastic models of military vehicles. Dragon Armor tanks require no glueing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box and is 100% true to scale... these don't look like model tanks, they look like tanks!. Color, camouflage and unit markings are carefully researched for maximum authenticity, marking the difference between and authentic scale model tank and a "toy" tank.

Dragon Models "1:72 Dragon Armor Collector Series" display model vehicles feature:

  • Molded plastic construction (some releases include diecast metal components).
  • Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.
  • Painted, fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.
  • Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.
  • Pad printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals.
  • Clear acrylic display case to protect model.
