Jagdtiger development started in February of 1943 and on October 20th of 1943, a wooden mock-up was presented to Adolf Hitler. The Jagdtiger's role was to support infantry and combat armored vehicles at long ranges. Two prototypes, one with Porsche suspension (made up of eight roadwheels) and one with Henschel suspension (made up of nine roadwheels) were completed in February of 1944. Its first designation was Jagdpanzer IV, but later on it was named Jadgtiger and received number Sd.Kfz.186. Production was planned to start in December of 1943 but started in July of 1944 but Pz.Kpfw V Panther production received priority and Jagdtiger production was slow.

Easy Model Platinum Collection

The Easy Model "Platinum Collection" series presents highy-affordable, ready-made plastic models of military vehicles in 1:72 and 1:144 scale. While these models may not have the same "heft" as their diecast siblings, they do offer remarkable value for money. Most importantly, they look perfectly at home alongside diecast modes, allowing collectors to "flesh out" their collection with types and paint-schemes not yet available in diecast.

Easy Model "Platinum Collection" display airplanes feature:

  • Molded plastic construction.
  • Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.
  • Pad printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals.
