1:72 Scale   Length   Width
Northrop T-38A Talon   7.75"   4.25"

In 1999 South Korea received 30 T-38As on a 10 year lease to fill the gap while they awaited the 2-seater supersonic Korea Aircraft Industries (KAI) T-50 Golden Eagle that would replace the T-38 and the Bae Hawk. The T-38 Talon was the world’s first supersonic trainer with the first aircraft going to the 16th FW at Yecheon in 1999. As the end of the lease approached the last 16th FW T-38A was returned to the U.S. with most being refurbished and sent to Holloman AFB to join the Aggressor Squadrons.

Northrop T-38A Talon

Designed as a supersonic jet trainer to replace the T-33, the T-38 was based on the F-5 Freedom Fighter airframe and was first flown on March 10th, 1959. The pressurized tandem-seat cockpit offers excellent visibility for both student and instructor and provides a comfortable training environment. Being both lightweight and nimble, the T-38 is used extensively to prepare military pilots for high performance jet aircraft and has earned the nickname "White Rocket". The T-38 was famously flown by the USAF Thunderbirds air demonstration squadron during the 1970s and proved popular with NASA who use it as an astronaut trainer and chase-plane.
