Fokker F-27 N2703 was c/n 6 and was delivered to West Coast Airlines on August 8, 1958 assigned fleet number 703. WCA had a total of 31 aircraft with 14 being F-27. WCA was the first operator of this type of aircraft. On January 17, 1963 a crew of 3 were on a training flight when the aircraft crashed into Great Salt Lake, Utah killing all on board. The crash investigators determined the cause was due to the crew’s lack of vigilance during descent resulting in impacting in the lake.
