Viscount c/n 453 was a Type V.843 with Rolls-Royce Dart 525 engines. It was one of six purchased by the CAAC – Civil Aviation Administration of China. It first flew on August 8 1963 and was delivered on September 19, 1963 registered as B-406. In 1986 the China United Airlines was formed as part of the People’s Liberation Army Civil Transportation Division and the aircraft was re-registered as 50258. It was withdrawn from service in 1990 and displayed at the Datang-Shan Museum, Changping, Beijing, China.
