F-15C #85-0102 is credited with scoring three kills during the Operation Desert Storm. On January 21st 1991, Capt. Dave "Logger" Rose, callsign "Chevron 17", used an AIM-7 to shoot down an Iraqi MiG-23 Flogger. On February 7th 1991, Capt. Tony "ET" Murphey, callsign "Chevron 22", downed a pair of Su-22 Fitters, again using AIM-7s. After returning to the US, the aircraft became the 33rd Tactical Fighter Wings flagship and was flown by Col. Rick Parsons. The aircraft was decorated with the "Gulf Spirit" nose-art and wore three Iraqi flags on its nose to denote its victories, along with a green star denoting Parson's own kill during the Gulf War.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle

Designed to meet US Air Force requirements for an air superiority fighter to replace the F-4 Phantom, the F-15 Eagle first flew on July 27, 1972. The Air Force needed a fighter that could engage long range targets, a skill the F-4 did not possess. The F-15 has a pulse-Doppler radar system, which can track small high-speed targets up to 120 nautical miles away and can lock its missile onto targets up to 50 nautical miles away. With more than 100 aerial combat victories, the F-15 is said to be one of the most successful modern fighters. It is expected to remain in service until 2025.

JC's 1:72 scale F-15s feature an impressive amount of pad-printed markings including some elaborate paint schemes and numerous warning placards found adorning the entire airframe. They are highly detailed with a delicate thin cambered wing, simulated stainless-steel heat shielding surrounding the engine exhausts, movable razor thin all metal elevators and rudders. The underside of the aircraft features non-configurable, yet highly detailed, sturdy metal landing gear with a full complement of beautifully pad printed ordnance. Showing remarkable attention to detail, actuators extend and retract with the hinged canopy and speed brake and compressor fans will even spin if air is blown into the engine intakes!
