The Hawker Hunter had 1,972 planes produced in its production run. Its great war capabilities as well as its easy flying manor, have given its pilots the memory of being the most joyous plane to fly. Not surprisingly, some 20 of these Hawker Hunters are still being flown after a century since its inception. The Hunter flew at a maximum speed of 699 m.p.h. It was armed with four 30-mm cannons, four underwing pylons carrying 1,000 lbs. bombs inboard and 500 lbs. bombs outboard.

Hawker Hunter GA.Mk 11

Designed by Sydney Camm, the Hawker Hunter was first flown on July 20th, 1951. Major variants of this British Cold War aircraft included a Royal Navy single-seat attack version, a two-seat Navy version and an RAF reconnaissance version. All versions were supersonic, and later variants featured improvements in armament and fuel capacity and a strengthened fuselage. With its high power-to-weight ratio, inherent strength and adaptability, the aircraft evolved from pure fighter into a superlative ground attack aircraft. The Hunter was the most successful British postwar fighter, serving many roles in its tenure with the British military as well as with other nations.
