USAF 57th OG, 11th RS, Nellis AFB, NV, 2001

General Atomics MQ-1 Predator   3.75"   6.75"

#3034 was the first Predator to fire a Hellfire C missile during the testing phase, #3034 also fired the first combat Hellfire missile at targets in Afghanistan shortly after the 11 September 2001 terror attacks against the United States. It now hangs in the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. The Predator is a long-endurance, medium-endurance, medium-altitude, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) originally designed for surveillance and reconnaissance. Later models (MQ-1) were fitted with Hellfire missiles for high priority targets. The Predator entered service in 1997 but did not receive notoriety until 2001 in Afghanistan when it was used by the USAF. Over 150 of these MQ-1s have been in service since, mainly because of its operational ceiling of 25,000 ft. and capability to handle a light payload. The MQ-1s are also referred to as "Reaper Hunter/Killers."

General Atomics MQ-1 Predator

Designed as a long range unmanned reconnaissanse aircraft, the RQ1 was first flown in 1994. In 1998, the MQ1 Hunter Killer version was produced, capable of firing Hellfire missiles.
