Krupp Kfz.69 Protze Truck   6.5"   2.25"

The "Krupp-Protze" (unofficial designation) was a six-wheeled German truck and artillery tractor used by German forces in World War II. It was powered by a 55 horse power or 60 horse power (since 1936) Krupp M 304 4-cylinder petrol engine. Its main purpose was to tow artillery, especially the PaK 36, and transport motorized infantry. It was mass-manufactured between 1933 and 1941. Its fuel consumption was relatively high (24 liters / 100 km on road) in comparison to the comparable Opel Blitz 1.5 t truck (16.5 liters / 100 km, produced 1938 - 1942). Total production was about 7,000 units. This Forces of Valor replica features both the Kfz. 69 standard version vehicle designed for towing and the Pak 36 artillery piece.

Krupp Kfz.69 Protze Truck

Designed primarily as an artillery tractor, the 6x4 Krupp Protze was a workhorse of the Wehrmacht. It eventually saw use in a variety of roles, including that of mobile anti-aircraft artillery platform and more commonly, as an infantry carrier. An air-cooled 3.3L flat-four cylinder engine configuration gave the vehicle's nose its distinctive low, flat shape and provided the driver with superb forward visibility. Four-wheel drive coupled with independent six-wheel suspension made the vehicle ideally suited for light cross-country duties. Almost 7000 units were produced between 1933 and 1941.
