North American B-25J Mitchell   8.75"   11.25"

The most widely produced of the B-25 series of bombers, this aircraft featured two 1,850hp Wright Cyclone engines, an array of .50in guns, and carried up to 4,000 lbs. in bombs. Designed as a medium range bomber, B-25s served with every allied air force during WW2.

North American B-25J Mitchell

First flown in August, 1940 The North American B-25 Mitchell became standard equipment for the allies in World War II. This twin-engine bomber was the most heavily armed airplane in the world. It was used for high- and low-level bombing, strafing, photoreconnaissance, submarine patrol and as a fighter. There were at least six major variants of the Mitchell, which included upgrades to power-operated two-gun turrets, the "greenhouse" style nose, and the 75mm cannon (one of the largest weapons fitted to an aircraft). The B-25 is perhaps most famous for its use in the Doolittle raid on Tokyo on April 18th, 1942.

Forces of Valor's 1:72 scale B-25s are a great value, featuring details usually seen only in higher priced models. Each model has hand-applied weathering that brings out the access panels and riveting details across its surface. There are eight nose-mounted machine guns, four fuselage-mounted machine guns and a 360 degree rotating turret behind the cockpit canopy. Hinged bomb bay doors open to reveal bombs and bulkhead details. The solid metal wing has separately applied transparent landing lights, and the landing gear is constructed as a complete subassembly, which makes this model easy to configure for ground display.
