The Abrams Main Battle Tank is the most versatile and powerful tank in the world. The M1A2 is an upgrade from the M1A1 and features a more accurate and powerful 120mm M256 Smooth Bore Cannon, an upgraded digital battlefield combat electronics system with the new 2nd Generation Forward Looking InfraRed sighting system, new improvements to the ventilation system, and improvement modifications to the main engine. Fast, agile, accurate, and lethal, the U.S. M1A2 Abrams is unmatched on the battlefield.
General Dynamics delivered the first M1 Abrams to the U.S. Army in 1980. The Abrams is a full tracked, low profile land combat system possessing a high degree of armor protection, lethal firepower, maneuverability and agility. It is built primarily from sturdy rolled homogeneous armor steel plates, sandwiched around thicker protective material. Its four man crew is aided by an array of sensors that constantly monitor the tank's tilt, the turret's motion and any gusts of wind; a computer adjusts the gun accordingly to keep it aimed at its target. Forces of Valor's 1:72 scale M1 Abrams has a diecast metal hull with a large, low-profile 360 degree rotating plastic turret, which allows for maximum detail such as that seen on the hatch and rivets. The turret also features a detailed 120mm elevating cannon with muzzle reference sensor, a hand-painted commander figure behind a 50 caliber machine gun and a 7.62mm machine gun mounted over the loader's hatch. The taillights and engine are hand-painted, and the rolling rubber tracks and wheel include suspension details. An array of battlefield equipment has been included for enhanced display options.
