Corgi Forward March US59117
Figure
RAF No.19 Sqn, Douglas Bader, RAF Coltishall, England, 1940

Arguably the RAF's most famous fighter pilot of WWII, Sq. Ldr. Bader had been a prewar fighter pilot who had lost both of his legs in a flying accident in December 1931. Forced to leave the RAF due to his injuries, he was determined to re-enlist upon the outbreak of war, having by then mastered the use of artificial legs. A gifted pilot, he managed to convince the Air Force's medical board to allow him to rejoin Fighter Command, and he was duly posted to No. 19 Sq., equipped with Spitfires, at Duxford in February 1940.

Corgi Forward March

The Corgi "Forward March" range presents highly-detailed, ready-made spin-cast figures in 1:32 (54mm) and 1:50 (36mm) scale. Over the last 50 years Corgi has earned a reputation as one of the finest producers of highly detailed, die-cast, historically accurate vehicle and aircraft models. These same values and principles have now been applied to a brand new range of hand-painted, spin-cast metal miniature figurines - the FORWARD MARCH collection. Our same commitment to quality and authenticity shines through in every figure - from aviators to World War II infantry and elite forces, these figures capture the essence of the period down to the buttons on the tunics and the look of confidence and resignation in their detailed faces! Many of these figures are the perfect compliment to existing Corgi military and aviation collections - what better way to bring additional life to your existing collection than by creating your own custom-made vignette with vehicles and figures.

Corgi "Forward March" figures feature:

  • Spin-cast metal construction.
  • Hand-painted details.
  • Unique, lifelike poses.
