1:72 Scale   Length   Width
Lockheed F-16C Fighting Falcon   8.25"   5.25"

Each year, the NATO "Tiger Meet" gives member nations an opportunity to train together in simulated battle over the skies of Europe. The 1985 meet was hosted at the Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgium and No.31 Squadron of the Belgian Air Force proudly displayed their enthusiasm for the event by painting one of their F-16As in a spectacular bright yellow and black tiger striped paint scheme as depicted by this model.

Lockheed F-16C Fighting Falcon

Designed by General Dynamics as a lightweight, daytime USAF air-combat fighter, the F-16 was first flown on January 20th, 1974. This single-engine, supersonic aircraft has, over the years, evolved into a multirole aircraft. It has a frameless bubble canopy—giving its pilot superior visibility—and it uses advanced aerodynamics. The F-16 was one of the first designs to use a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire system, which helps it pull 9-g maneuvers and achieve speeds of more than Mach 2. Called "Viper" by its pilots, the F-16 is considered one of the most successful aircraft designs of the Cold War, with 4,400+ aircraft built since 1976.

Dragon Models produce some of the most detailed diecast metal F-16 models available. Each model is assembled from sturdy metal components featuring detailed panel lines, antennas, access panels and other surface details. All feature accurately researched exterior markings and placards which are applied using a state-of-the-art pad printing process so they will not fade or peel like decals. The canopy can optionally be displayed in an opened position, revealing a detailed cockpit interior. The authentic ordnance loads can be attached at different wing stations and the speedbrakes can be shown opened or closed, inside the all-moving horizontal stabilizer surfaces. Finally, the model may be shown "in flight" on its display stand, or firmly on the ground when the metal landing gear is attached. Die-hard F-16 fans will be impressed with the attention to detail shown in the construction of this model.
