Boeing KC-135E Stratotanker | | 4" | | 4" |
Each year, the NATO "Tiger Meet" gives member nations an opportunity to train together in simulated battle over the skies of Europe. The KC-135 Stratotanker is the largest aircraft ever to carry "Tiger" markings, with the tiger livery painted on the fuselage and tail. Though the colorful markings were removed after the "Tiger Meet" was over, collectors will be able to keep this specially marked KC-135 in their collection permanently. Dragon Warbirds now launches this KC-135 "TIGER MARKINGS" as its newest release. In the past, the KC-135 series has been one of Warbirds' most successful items, and this latest model enhances the range thanks to its bright and beautiful "Tiger" markings. This new series no doubt will create a hot new line for model collectors. Designed as an in-flight refueling tanker for the United States Air Force, the KC-135 was first flown in August 1956. It has played a crucial role in extending the range and endurance of U.S. and allied aircraft. Its primary mission is to refuel other aircraft in-flight, enabling them to operate over longer distances without the need to land for refueling. The aircraft is based on the Boeing 707 and has a distinctive appearance with its swept wings and a flying boom for refueling operations. Beyond aerial refueling, the KC-135 can also transport cargo, perform medical evacuations, and support strategic airlift missions. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
