By Wednesday, September 20, 1994, the fighting around the north end of the bridge was ferocious, with the paratroopers dug into the rubble of the buildings defending against German tanks and infantry. Using Piat guns, satchel charges and sheer tenacity, the British defenders from the 2nd Battalion, 1 st Paratrooper Brigade destroyed many German, tanks but eventually had to capitulate to the overwhelming German forces.
Inspired by some of the most evocative and iconographic events of World War II, this series captures a snapshot in time using highly detailed and historically accurate diecast models, spin-cast metal figures and cold-cast diorama bases. The scene that is created is so strikingly realistic, it's as is you were looking at a photograph of the event. Combine two sets to create an expanded scene.
Designed to replace to the PzKpfw IV, which had met its match in the new Soviet T-34, the Panzerkampfwagen V "Panther" series of heavy tanks were armed with powerful weapons and equally powerful armor protection. Thought by many to be the best German tank of WWII, the Panther featured a sloped armored turret with a long barrel 75mm main gun and an anti-aircraft 7.92mm machine gun. It was equipped with anti-magnetic paste to combat magnetic mines, and armor skirts offered further protection for the track system and crew. Approximately 5,500 Panthers were built during WWII. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
