Celebrating 50 years of diecast model production, Corgi produced 2006 pieces of this limited edition model. Corgi released the first Simon Snorkel Fire Engine in 1964. The model produced had a Bedford chassis and was made in 1:48 scale. Over 1,163,000 pieces were sold over a twelve-year period. Later, in 1977, a replacement model on a Dennis chassis came out, costing £82,000 to design, tool and develop - it sold over 173,000 pieces. Altogether a stunning model of the Simon Snorkel with SS263 Hydraulic Platform which was launched in 1973 and evolved into today's Aerial Ladder Platforms.
