Douglas Saturn V Rocket   11"   1"

Apollo 13 was the third Apollo mission intended to land on the Moon, but a mid-mission oxygen tank rupture caused sufficient damage to force the lunar landing to be aborted. The flight was commanded by James A. Lovell, with John L. "Jack" Swigert command module pilot, and Fred W. Haise lunar module pilot.

Douglas Saturn V Rocket

Designed for the Apollo program at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, the Saturn V was first launched on November 9th, 1967. After two unmanned flight trials the Saturn V launched astronauts into lunar orbit in 1968, then in 1969 powered the first manned moon landing. The Saturn V's huge size and payload capacity dwarfed all other previously successful rockets. The Saturn V stood 363 feet tall and without fins was 33 feet in diameter with a payload capacity of 260,000 pounds. Its five powerful engines successfully pushed its 6.5 million pounds beyond the earth's atmosphere.

Dragon's 1:400 scale Saturn V Rocket masterfully recreates this powerful rocket's multistage assembly. Each of the three stages is constructed of diecast metal and can be displayed separately or together as a fully assembled and launch-ready spacecraft. Once removed from the assembly, each stage reveals beautifully replicated rocket engine nozzles with details of the internal fuel pressure vessel clearly visible inside the casing. The service module is easily removable from the third stage and can be configured with the Launch Escape System or fitted with the command module.
