Dragon Models 1:72 Armor Collector Series 60255
KMDB T-34/85 Display Model
Soviet Army 63rd Guards 1st Btn, USSR, 1944

1:72 Scale   Length   Width
KMDB T-34/85   3.25"   1.75"

The T-34-85 gave the Red Army a tank with better armour and mobility than the German Panzer IV tank and StuG III assault gun. While it could not match the armour or weapons of the heavier Panther and Tiger tanks, its improved firepower made it much more effective than earlier models. In comparison with the T-34-85 program, the Germans instead chose an upgrade path based on the introduction of completely new, expensive, heavier, and more complex tanks, greatly slowing the growth of their tank production and aiding the Soviets in maintaining a substantial numerical superiority in tanks. By May 1944, T-34-85 production had reached 1,200 tanks per month. In the entire war, production figures for all Panther types reached no more than 6,557, and for all Tiger types 2,027. Production figures for the T-34-85 alone reached 22,559.

KMDB T-34/85

Designed to replace the Soviet BT-5, BT-7 and T-26 infantry tanks, the T-34 was produced between 1940 and 1958. The T-34 is often regarded as one of the most successful and most influential tanks of the era. It was WWII's most highly produced tank and history's second most highly produced tank. The T-34 had a powerful engine, wide tracks and heavy armor. It was continuously refined, and by 1944 had gained a more powerful 85mm gun and a superior three-man turret design. The success of the T-34 can be measured in part by its longevity—by 1996, T-34s were still serving in 27 nations around the world.

Dragon's 1:72 scale T-34 medium tanks are true collector's pieces. The top portion of the model's hull and turret is constructed entirely of diecast plastic, which allows for the greatest possible detail, and the lower hull is constructed of diecast metal. Each release features a 360-degree rotating turret with elevating cannon and a variety of battlefield equipment configurations separately attached to the hull, such as tow cables, spare tracks and tools. The series includes early variants as well as mid-war production variants with notable upgrades such as a commander's cupola and a larger mid-war hexagonal shaped cast turret.

Dragon Models 1:72 Armor Collector Series

The Dragon Models "1:72 Dragon Armor Collector Series" range presents highly-detailed, ready-made plastic models of military vehicles. Dragon Armor tanks require no glueing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box and is 100% true to scale... these don't look like model tanks, they look like tanks!. Color, camouflage and unit markings are carefully researched for maximum authenticity, marking the difference between and authentic scale model tank and a "toy" tank.
