Dragon Models 1:72 Armor Collector Series 60328
KMDB T-34 Display Model
Soviet Army 116th Tank Bgd, "Lazo", Eastern Front, 1942, (T-34/76 mod 1941)

1:72 Scale   Length   Width
KMDB T-34   3.25"   1.75"

The advanced Soviet T-34 tank design proved a nasty surprise to German troops when it was first confronted in the invasion of Russia in 1941. By the time of Operation Barbarossa, a total of 967 T-34s were available, though thousands more were to be manufactured by the end of WWII in improved forms. The T-34 Model 1941 featured an improved F-34 76.2mm gun with superior antitank performance than its predecessor.

The Dragon Armor range now includes a T-34/76 Mod. 1941 from the 116th Tank Brigade. The 1/72 scale model is shown as a tank fighting in 1942, with the name "Lazo" emblazoned on the sides of the turret. Many tanks were daubed with painted slogans, a practice commonly used by Russians to boost morale. In this case, Sergey Lazo was a Communist leader at the time of the October 1917 Revolution in the Far East of Russia. This model is expertly assembled and finished by craftsmen, and it is full of accurate detail. Dragon is extremely pleased to offer this model of the legendary tank that shouldered the burden of combat in The Great Patriotic War.

KMDB T-34

Designed to replace the Soviet BT-5, BT-7 and T-26 infantry tanks, the T-34 was produced between 1940 and 1958. The T-34 is often regarded as one of the most successful and most influential tanks of the era. It was WWII's most highly produced tank and history's second most highly produced tank. The T-34 had a powerful engine, wide tracks and heavy armor. It was continuously refined, and by 1944 had gained a more powerful 85mm gun and a superior three-man turret design. The success of the T-34 can be measured in part by its longevity-by 1996, T-34s were still serving in 27 nations around the world.

Dragon's 1:72 scale T-34 medium tanks are true collector's pieces. The top portion of the model's hull and turret is constructed entirely of diecast plastic, which allows for the greatest possible detail, and the lower hull is constructed of diecast metal. Each release features a 360-degree rotating turret with elevating cannon and a variety of battlefield equipment configurations separately attached to the hull, such as tow cables, spare tracks and tools. The series includes early variants as well as mid-war production variants with notable upgrades such as a commander's cupola and a larger mid-war hexagonal shaped cast turret.
