Dragon Models 1:72 Armor Collector Series 60502
Horch Horch 108 Display Model
German Army, Eastern Front, 1943

1:72 Scale   Length   Width
Horch Horch 108   2.5"   1.25"

Dragon Armorís 1/72 scale miniature version naturally makes use of the new toolings created in the earlier release. The open-topped body containing three bench seats (able to accommodate five passengers and the driver) is full of detail. Even the tread pattern on the floor plate is replicated! There is also an MG34 machine gun provided on a pintle mount for antiaircraft duties. The model beautifully captures the look and stance of the Horch 4x4 heavy car, and the windscreen employs transparent plastic. The vehicle from an unidentified unit fighting on the Eastern Front is finished in a three-color camouflage pattern, while small details like the license plate are also present.

Horch Horch 108

Designed in the mid 1930s as a personnel transport for the German Army and Medical Corps, the Horch 1A (also known as the Horch 108) served until the end of World War II. Virtually all German combat units employed a Horch 1A, which was used to tow the 20mm FlaK 38 anti-aircraft gun. The Horch 1A had several ahead-of-its-time features, including four steerable wheels and two spare wheels mounted externally on rotating stub-axles, which helped prevent the chassis from "bottoming-out" when crossing rough terrain. Produced from 1937 to 1940, variants of this vehicle included ambulances and luxury transport for German officers.

Dragon's 1:72 Horch 108 series trucks are constructed entirely of plastic to allow for maximum scale detail. This model has a roomy interior, with separately painted seat cushions, a simulated diamond plated floor board and delicate steering wheel and transmission shift levers. On the exterior, the side mirrors, headlights and bumper have all been separately applied. An exceptional amount of scale detail is clearly visible on the model's underside such as an intricately detailed wish-bone suspension and separately applied engine exhaust system. Releases in this series include open cab with a center mounted machine gun and a fully closed cab with a simulated canvas top and transparent windows.

Dragon Models 1:72 Armor Collector Series

The Dragon Models "1:72 Dragon Armor Collector Series" range presents highly-detailed, ready-made plastic models of military vehicles. Dragon Armor tanks require no glueing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box and is 100% true to scale... these don't look like model tanks, they look like tanks!. Color, camouflage and unit markings are carefully researched for maximum authenticity, marking the difference between and authentic scale model tank and a "toy" tank.

Dragon Models "1:72 Dragon Armor Collector Series" display model vehicles feature:

  • Molded plastic construction (some releases include diecast metal components).
  • Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.
  • Painted, fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.
  • Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.
  • Pad printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals.
  • Clear acrylic display case to protect model.
