This jet fighter developed in France has a delta shaped wing, and a fly-by-wire control system. This design allows for the Mirage 2000 to have superb agility and a high angle of attack. With a maximum speed of 1,450 m.p.h. and two 30-mm DEFA 554 cannon, plus 7 total hard points capable of 13,890 lbs. of stores, the Mirage 2000 makes for a formidable opponent.
Designed as a lightweight fighter for the French Air Force, the Dassault Mirage 2000 was first flown on March 10th, 1978. The Mirage 2000 is a fourth generation fighter based on the Mirage III. It has a delta wing, one engine, a dual-intake, and can carry a range of air-to-surface weapons, including laser-guided bombs. Variants include a single-seat or dual-seat version. The dual-seat 2000N is nuclear strike capable, armed with nuclear weapons and equipped with navigation avionics that are capable of handling air-to-ground munitions. The Mirage 2000C is a single-seat, all weather interceptor armed with high firing rate 30mm guns. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
