Model Power 1:48 Planes 6413
T-34 Mentor Diecast Model
USAF

1:48 Scale   Length   Width
Beech T-34 Mentor   6.5"   8.25"

Produced in great numbers for both the United States Navy and Air Force, the twoplace, tandem, 173 m.p.h., T-34 was used as a primary flight and aerobatic training aircraft. It's also commonly used by Navy flying clubs for sport and recreational purposes. Designed to utilize as much of the Beech Bonanza tooling as was practical, the tricycle-gear configuration makes the airplane easy to operate for the low-time pilot. Sold by the military, as surplus, many Beech Mentors have been restored, and they now fetch a high price among the warbird crowd. Since the T-34, along with the T-28, are considered warbirds, these models allow nontaildragger pilots to participate in warbird activities. The Navy still operates quite a few turbine-engine-powered T-34s. When these are finally offered as surplus, one can just imagine the rush there will be to purchase them. If you are interested in the type, there are many Beech T-34 Mentors to be seen at the Experimental Aircraft Association's Convention, held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, every summer.
