L-39C Serial Nr:131904 was one of 35 aircraft produced by Aero Vodochody for the Soviet Air Force in 1981. During its military career, the aircraft served to train Soviet Air Force pilots as well as Cosmonauts at Ukraine Cernigov Airbase. The aircraft was sold to a private owner after the break-up of the Soviet Union who took delivery in the Czech Republic in 2003. The aircraft was given the civilian registration "OK-JET" and underwent extensive refurbishment and demilitarization before returning to the air in 2004. Since that time, it has been a frequent performer at European air shows.

Aero Vodochody L-39C Albatros

Designed in Czechoslovakia to meet the requirements for a trainer to replace the L-29 Delfin, the L-39 Albatros was first flown on November 4, 1969. This high-performance, single-engined aircraft was the first turbofan-powered trainer and the first "second generation" jet trainer. It is versatile enough to be used for light-attack missions as well as pilot training, and is also popular among private owners, especially in the U.S., where its relatively low price-tag (between $200 and $300K) makes it available to moderately wealthy individuals. The L-39 is the world's most widely-used jet trainer and has even been used in Hollywood movies such as the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies."
