The Panther is one of the best-known German tanks of WWII. The Panther was also considered one of the best tanks of all the armies in conflict. The Panther was a great engineering success, as it proved reliable on cross-country terrain, fast, with great armor design, and a potent 75mm gun that had better penetration than the awesome Tiger's 88mm gun.
Designed to replace to the PzKpfw IV, which had met its match in the new Soviet T-34, the Panzerkampfwagen V "Panther" series of heavy tanks were armed with powerful weapons and equally powerful armor protection. Thought by many to be the best German tank of WWII, the Panther featured a sloped armored turret with a long barrel 75mm main gun and an anti-aircraft 7.92mm machine gun. It was equipped with anti-magnetic paste to combat magnetic mines, and armor skirts offered further protection for the track system and crew. Forces of Valor's 1:32 scale Panther tank features a diecast metal upper hull and turret and opening driver and forward gunner's hatches. A functional engine hatch at the rear opens to reveal the top portions of a V-12 Maybach engine. The 360 degree rotating turret has an opening commander's copula hatch and elevating diecast metal cannon with a detailed muzzle brake. Wide rolling rubber tracks and battle weathered wheels with working suspension are featured on each track wheel. Additional hull detail and textured weathering effects are included on the underside of the model.
