Boeing 707-331B, serial number 18847, entered service with Trans World Airlines as N762TW. The aircraft later operated with Air Tanzania on international routes linking East Africa with destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Configured with first class and economy seating, the Boeing 707 provided long range jet service and helped expand Tanzania's international air connections. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT3D turbofan engines, the aircraft offered reliable performance and strong range capability. N762TW represented an important step in the development of Air Tanzania's long haul operations.

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
