AeroClassics 1:400 Series AC411256
Airbus A320 Diecast Model
Canada 3000 / Monarch, C-GXBB

Limited Edition

1:400 Scale   Length   Width
Airbus A320   3.75"   3.25"

Airbus A320-212, registered C-GXBB, flew for Canada 3000 before later operating under a Monarch Airlines association, reflecting the common industry practice of aircraft transferring between charter operators through leasing or sale as fleet needs changed. Canada 3000's November 2001 collapse following the September 11 attacks left several of its aircraft available for other charter operators including UK-based Monarch Airlines to absorb into their own fleets, illustrating how the sudden failure of one carrier could quickly redistribute aircraft across the broader charter aviation market on both sides of the Atlantic.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

Airbus A320

Designed as a short/medium range narrow-body airliner to compete with the Boeing 737, the Airbus A320 was first flown on February 22nd, 1987. The A320 features side stick controllers and glass cockpit and was the world's first airliner to use use a digital fly-by-wire control system. Controversially, the software includes "flight envelope protection" to prevent the pilot from exceeding safe flight parameters. The highly successful design rapidly led to the development of the shortened-fuselage A318 and A319, and lengthened-fuselage A321 derivatives. More than 4,500 of the A320 family have been produced, almost all of which are still in active service.
