Boeing 727-233, registered C-GAAB, flew for Air Canada as part of the carrier's substantial fleet of 727 trijets supporting domestic Canadian and short-haul international routes from the 1970s through the 1990s. Air Canada operated one of the larger 727 fleets among North American carriers, using the type as a core narrowbody workhorse connecting Canadian cities to each other and to nearby U.S. destinations before the airline's fleet modernization toward Airbus A320-family aircraft and Boeing 767s in subsequent decades.
