Boeing 737-2X6(Adv), registered N747AS, flew for Alaska Airlines as part of the carrier's fleet of 737-200s supporting the airline's West Coast-focused domestic network and routes to Alaska during the 1970s and 1980s. Alaska Airlines built its identity around service to the state for which it is named, using the rugged 737-200 to serve Alaskan communities alongside the carrier's broader Pacific Northwest and California route network before Alaska's later transition to 737 Next Generation and MAX aircraft.
