Airbus A310-222, registered F-OHPQ, flew for Air Djibouti, the small East African nation's flag carrier, as part of the airline's long-haul widebody fleet supporting international routes connecting Djibouti to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Air Djibouti's operations reflected the strategic importance of Djibouti's location at the mouth of the Red Sea, a position that has made the small country a significant hub for regional shipping, military basing, and increasingly, air transport connectivity.
