McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, registered C-GCPC, flew for CP Air (Canadian Pacific Air Lines) as part of the Canadian carrier's fleet of DC-10 widebody trijets supporting long-haul international routes connecting Canada to destinations across the Pacific, Europe, and South America. CP Air, Canada's second major international airline alongside Air Canada, built its long-haul network around the DC-10 before the carrier's 1987 merger with Pacific Western Airlines and Eastern Provincial Airways to form the unified Canadian Airlines International.
