Fokker F28 Fellowship, registered D-ABAX, flew for LTU (Lufttransport-Unternehmen), the German charter and leisure carrier, as part of the airline's fleet of Dutch-built regional jets supporting shorter charter routes connecting Germany to European holiday destinations. LTU built a substantial charter operation from Dusseldorf before later fleet modernization toward larger Airbus and Boeing widebody aircraft for its long-haul leisure network, eventually merging into the Air Berlin group in the 2000s.
