LOT Polish Airlines, SP-LVG

1:400 Scale   Length   Width
Vickers Viscount 800   2.5"   2.75"

Vickers Viscount 800, construction number 438, was delivered to LOT Polish Airlines as SP-LVG in 1960. The aircraft served short- and medium-haul routes across Poland and neighboring countries, connecting Warsaw with cities such as Krakow, Gdansk, and Berlin. SP-LVG was configured for passenger comfort with pressurized cabins and reliable turboprop performance, reflecting LOT's modernization efforts in the early 1960s. It carried LOT's classic white and blue livery and played a key role in increasing domestic and regional connectivity. After years of service, SP-LVG was retired or sold to secondary operators, leaving a legacy in LOT's Viscount operations.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

Vickers Viscount 800

Designed as a medium-range pressurized turboprop aircraft, the Vickers Viscount first flew on July 16, 1948. As the world's first turboprop airliner, the Viscount filled a need for passenger transport on less popular routes. The early 630 design could carry 32 passengers, but it was ultimately rejected because of high per-passenger costs that made it impractical for commercial purposes. The redesigned 700 could carry up to 48 passengers, and the later Type 800 "Super Viscount" added an extra 23 passengers for a total of 71. The Viscount remained in airline service until 1985, when it became primarily a charter service aircraft.
