Boeing 727-100F, registered N727CK, flew for American International Airways (later Kalitta Air) as part of the Michigan-based cargo carrier's fleet of converted 727 freighters supporting domestic and international cargo operations. Founded by drag racer and businessman Connie Kalitta, the airline built a substantial freighter fleet before rebranding as Kalitta Air in the late 1990s, becoming a significant player in the express and charter cargo market, particularly for automotive and industrial parts logistics.
