Boeing 767-270, construction number 21859, was delivered to Iraqi Airways as J2-KCN in 1984 as part of the airline's early widebody expansion. The aircraft was intended for medium and long haul international services linking Baghdad with destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. J2-KCN featured a two class cabin and wore Iraqi Airways' green and white livery of the era. Its service career was heavily affected by regional conflict and international sanctions during the late 1980s and 1990s, which grounded much of the fleet. J2-KCN spent extended periods stored outside Iraq and was eventually withdrawn from service, marking a short and disrupted operational history.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. With more than 1000 aircraft produced, the 767 is the second most prolific wide-bodied airliner after the 747. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
