McDonnell Douglas DC-8-63F, registered N811CK, flew for Kalitta Air as part of the Michigan-based cargo carrier's substantial fleet of converted DC-8 freighters. Kalitta Air, founded by drag racer and businessman Connie Kalitta, built its cargo business around aging but capable DC-8s sourced from a wide range of former operators worldwide, growing into a significant charter and contract cargo operator serving the U.S. military, automotive manufacturers, and general air freight customers across North America and beyond.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed to compete with the Boeing 707, the DC-8 was first flown on May 30th, 1958. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
