Boeing 707-328, serial number 17916, entered service with Air France as F-BHSB. The aircraft joined Air France's rapidly expanding jet fleet and operated long haul services from Paris to destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Configured with first class and economy seating, the 707 brought increased speed and passenger comfort to the airline's intercontinental network. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT4A turbojet engines, F-BHSB represented an important step in Air France's transition from piston airliners to modern jet transportation during the early 1960s.

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
