Boeing 707-458, serial number 18071, entered service with El Al Israel Airlines as 4X-ATB. The aircraft joined El Al's long haul fleet in the 1960s and operated international routes linking Tel Aviv with destinations across Europe, Africa, and North America. Configured with multiple passenger classes, the Boeing 707 provided modern intercontinental jet service and helped establish El Al as a major international carrier. Powered by Rolls-Royce Conway turbofan engines, the aircraft offered improved efficiency and range compared with earlier jetliners. 4X-ATB supported El Al's worldwide network during the airline's rapid expansion.

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
