Sud Aviation SE 210 Caravelle VI-R, serial number 233, entered service with VARIG as PP-VJD. The aircraft operated domestic and regional international services throughout South America, supporting VARIG's growing jet network. Configured with a single class passenger cabin, the Caravelle was renowned for its smooth ride, low cabin noise, and advanced aerodynamics. Powered by Rolls-Royce Avon turbojet engines, PP-VJD played an important role in VARIG's early jet operations.
