Airbus A330-243, manufacturer serial number 1095, was registered as 4X-BAK with Israir Airlines, having been delivered new to US Airways in March 2010 and later flown by American Airlines until it was stored in 2020 during the COVID-19 downturn. Israir bought it and sister aircraft 4X-BAL as a pair for roughly 85 million dollars, and 4X-BAK touched down at Tel Aviv on June 19, 2026, after a nonstop delivery flight of nearly 14 hours from Tucson, Arizona. It became the carrier's first widebody in almost 20 years, wearing Israir's refreshed two-tone sun livery ahead of planned Tel Aviv to New York JFK service.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
