Airbus A330-243, manufacturer serial number 1100, was registered as 4X-BAL with Israir Airlines, having been delivered new to US Airways in March 2010 as N295AY and later flown by American Airlines until it was stored in 2020 during the pandemic. The second of two former American A330-200s that Israir bought for roughly 85 million dollars combined, it followed sister aircraft 4X-BAK to Tel Aviv in June 2026. The pair joined a fleet of eight A320s and mark Israir's return to long-haul flying after nearly two decades, supporting planned Tel Aviv to New York JFK service, a route the airline last operated in 2008.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
