Airbus A319-112, registered N530VA, flew for Virgin America before the airline's 2018 merger into Alaska Airlines, after which the aircraft transitioned into Alaska's fleet wearing the combined carrier's livery. Virgin America had built a distinctive brand around mood lighting, in-seat entertainment, and premium economy seating that won a loyal following among West Coast travelers, though Alaska Airlines ultimately phased out its inherited Airbus fleet in favor of an all-Boeing 737 strategy, with N530VA representing this transitional period in Alaska's post-merger fleet consolidation.
