McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, manufacturer serial number 46990, was delivered new to Singapore Airlines as 9V-SDA in 1978, later flying for Canadian charter carrier Wardair and then Canadian Airlines as C-GFHX, before joining French carrier Minerve as F-GGMZ in 1989 and subsequently AOM French Airlines. The aircraft's remarkable career continued through Dominicana de Aviacion, Mexico's TAESA, Denmark's Premiair, and finally UK charter carriers Airtours International and MyTravel Airways as G-BYDA, before being scrapped in 2005 after a 27-year career spanning eight different airlines across four continents.
