Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, serial number 63989, line number 1050, operated by China Southern Airlines as B-20EW. The aircraft first flew on February 9, 2021 but became one of the Dreamliners affected by Boeing's lengthy 787 delivery disruptions. It remained undelivered for more than four years before finally being ferried from Paine Field to Guangzhou on July 8-9, 2025. B-20EW entered China Southern revenue service on July 17, 2025 and is configured with 28 business-class and 269 economy seats. Its unusually long gap between first flight and delivery makes it a particularly interesting example from the 787 production backlog.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
