Boeing 777-367ER, serial number 60723, line number 1319, operated by Cathay Pacific as B-KQZ. The aircraft first flew on June 30, 2015 and was delivered new from Everett to Hong Kong on July 29-30, 2015. Powered by two General Electric GE90-115B engines, it initially carried 40 business, 32 premium economy and 268 economy seats before being reconfigured in 2018 with 296 economy seats. B-KQZ was stored at Hong Kong in June 2020 and later at Alice Springs, Australia, during the pandemic. It returned to Cathay Pacific service in December 2023 and remains active on regional and long-haul routes. Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
