Anti-Submarine Squadron (Light) 35 (HSL-35) "Magicians" was established on January 15th, 1974. The HSL squadrons all flew the "light" SH-2 Kaman Sea Sprite while the HS squadrons flew the larger SH-3 Sea King. The Seasprite served for many decades with the US Navy, rescuing downed friendly aircrews during the Vietnam War and conducting combat support and surface warfare operations during the Gulf War. HSL-35 was disestablished on December 4th, 1992.
Designed to meet a US Navy requirement for a high-speed all-weather Search and Rescue helicopter, the H-2 was first flown on July 2nd, 1959. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
