Boeing 727-227, serial number 21292, entered service with Braniff International Airways as N406BN. The aircraft joined Braniff's fleet during the airline's expansion across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Configured with first class and economy seating, the 727-200 provided increased capacity and range compared with earlier variants. Powered by Pratt and Whitney JT8D engines, the trijet offered strong performance and reliability. N406BN supported Braniff's colorful and rapidly growing network during the 1970s.
