After the much-publicised disasters involving the Comet Mk.1, BOAC's Comet 4s went on to give faithful and reliable service, until the last service on 24th November 1965. G-APDC was constructed at Hatfield, Herts., first flew on 23rd September 1958 and was one of the first two of nineteen delivered to BOAC on 30th September 1958. It served for seven years, before being sold to Malaysian Airlines as 9M-AOC, then was re-registered 9V-BAT with Malaysia-Singapore Airlines.
Designed as the world's first jet airliner, the de Havilland DH.106 Comet was first flown on July 27th, 1949. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
