Auric Goldfinger (Gert Frobe), 'the man with the Midas touch', melts down gold and recasts it into parts for his Rolls-Royce in order to smuggle the bullion around the world without detection. Driven by Oddjob, his deadly Korean manservant, the car has a twelve-cylinder engine weighing over 7,000 pounds and was capable of cruising at over 100 miles an hour. The passenger compartment conceals the pull-down table where Goldfinger begrudgingly signed a £5,000 cheque to Bond - his prize for winning their game of golf!
The Rolls-Royce Phantom III Sedanca de Ville, produced between 1936 and 1939, is a luxurious and rare variant of the Phantom III series. Featuring a distinctive half-convertible roof over the rear passenger compartment, the Sedanca de Ville combined elegance with open-air motoring comfort. Powered by a 7.3-liter V12 engine - the only V12 Rolls-Royce before modern times - it offered smooth, powerful performance. Its coachbuilt body showcased exquisite craftsmanship and classic pre-war styling. The Phantom III Sedanca de Ville was favored by wealthy clients seeking exclusivity and sophistication, representing the pinnacle of Rolls-Royce luxury and engineering during the pre-World War II era. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
